Hey, kids! Sharpen your skills!
As writers, we’ve got to ask questions about the world in order to better understand it. That’s why we write—to make sense of things.
After we tap into our imaginations, we must then figure out how to explain our thoughts in a logical way. It doesn’t matter whether we are writing a book report for school or a story about a tap-dancing tomato that’s stuck in an elevator. We’ve got to describe things clearly and get the details right. Writing is a process, and by doing it, we learn to better understand ourselves and communicate with others. (And sometimes we even discover a little genius in ourselves along the way.)
At Pencil Heads, our mission is to help YOU discover the fun that can come from writing. Your teachers have probably told you that strong writing skills are important—in school, college, and that great big place known as “the real world”. Well, your teachers are right! (That’s why they’re teachers.)
Reading and writing are necessary skills—in both testing and in life. Whether you want to be an astronaut or an actor when you grow up, you’ll need to know how to write. But that doesn’t mean that writing can’t be fun! We believe the kinds of things you learn through creative writing will actually help you do better in school—and any job you might have in the year 2025.
