Have you always wanted to write a book of stories? Do you have amazing short stories bubbling inside your brain? Well, in this workshop, you may be surprised by who you meet in the depths of your imagination— from witches and warlocks, to rock stars and monsters, to princesses and frogs! First we play some fun improvisation games to get your brain loosened-up, and then you’re ready to write. Who knows? You might design a new candy shop that would put Wonka’s Chocolate Factory to shame, or retell the story of "The Billy Goats Gruff" from the troll's point of view. Adventure into a new story each week-- telling tall tales, solving mysteries, and rewriting fairy tales. Prepare to answer the mysteries of the universe by writing your own legends. If you can think of it, you can write it! At the end of the session, you will receive your own class book and attend a Book Release Party, complete with a reading of your work. You can even sign your book for your adoring fans! (**No fancy degrees, spectacles, or graying beards required.)
Sliding Scale Tuition - Because Pencil Heads operates with limited resources, we ask that those who can afford to pay full price to please do so. Monthly installments are also an option. However, we realize that not everyone can afford the full fee. We do not want to turn away a child who loves to write, and that is why we offer a sliding scale option. Please consider your family income and resources when determining the appropriate fee for your child. We work on the honor system and trust that your assessment is an honest one.
